Chude Jideonwo Joins Dr. Morayo Afolabi-Brown for Q Conversation on How Depression Saved My Life at Quramo Festival 2026

Media entrepreneur, journalist, storyteller and Amazon bestseller, Chude Jideonwo, joined media personality Dr. Morayo Afolabi-Brown for a special Q Conversation at the Quramo Festival 2026, marking the 10th anniversary of the literary and cultural festival. Held on October 3 at Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, the conversation centred on Jideonwo’s Amazon bestselling memoir, How Depression Saved My Life, exploring the personal experiences, questions around mental health and journey of self-discovery that shaped the book.

The conversation offered members of the #WithChude community and festival attendees an opportunity to engage directly with Jideonwo about a deeply personal work that examines depression, masculinity, faith, vulnerability and the possibility of finding joy through difficult seasons. Ahead of the event, Jideonwo expressed his excitement about sharing the stage with Afolabi-Brown, writing: “Excited to join my sister, Morayo on stage at the Quramo Festival talking about my latest book ‘How Depression Saved My Life’.” The session also included a book-signing session, allowing attendees to meet the author and have copies of the memoir signed.

The Q Conversation formed part of Quramo Festival’s 10th anniversary programme, bringing together writers, readers, creatives and cultural voices for conversations around books, ideas and contemporary African experiences. For Jideonwo, the invitation provided another opportunity to take How Depression Saved My Life beyond the page and into an open conversation with readers and audiences, continuing the wider conversation around mental health, emotional wellbeing and the stories we carry.
