Media entrepreneur, Amazon bestselling author and one of Africa’s leading interviewers, Chude Jideonwo, is set to take the TEDxUI 2026 stage at the University of Ibadan on November 21, where he will deliver a 10-minute talk titled “Truth-Telling in the Age of Noise: Media as an Engine for Civic Ignition.” The invitation is a recognition of Jideonwo’s pioneering work in building independent media platforms and shaping how young Africans engage with politics, culture and the stories that define society.
Held under the theme “FLAMES,” TEDxUI 2026 celebrates ideas, people and experiences capable of inspiring meaningful impact. Jideonwo’s talk will explore the role of media in an increasingly noisy information landscape, examining how truth, storytelling and responsible journalism can move beyond informing audiences to awakening civic consciousness and inspiring action. His experience across independent media, storytelling and public conversations makes the subject particularly aligned with the event’s focus on ideas that can ignite change.
The University of Ibadan event will bring together more than 100 attendees, with the talks set to reach a much wider global audience through publication on the official TEDx YouTube channel. For Jideonwo, the TEDxUI stage is an opportunity to speak directly to a new generation of thinkers and leaders about one of the defining challenges of the digital age: how to preserve truth, create meaning and use media as a force for civic engagement in an era overwhelmed by noise.
