The “Designed On Purpose” series is reframing the narrative around pain, purpose, and possibility, placing women’s lived experiences at the center of a powerful, intentional story. Created by Tayo Ishola-Aranmolate and produced under the Wonder Woman Initiative, supported by Chude Jideonwo Presents, is a visually rich and emotionally grounded docu-series that explores life’s most defining moments, especially the painful ones but part of a larger, deliberate design.
At its core, the documentary brings together a collective of women bound not by identical experiences, but by a shared vision of growth, healing, and intentional living. Through a series of deeply personal interviews, “Designed On Purpose” amplifies voices of women who have endured “crashing moments” and emerged with renewed purpose, transforming pain into pathways for impact. As Tayo Ishola-Aranmolate explains within the film, the initiative is rooted in a belief that storytelling, craft, and creative expression, particularly through fashion and design, can become powerful tools for healing and self-redefinition.
In its premiere episode, “Threads of Strength,” the series introduces three distinct yet interwoven stories, women whose journeys defy easy definition but reveal a shared resilience. Among them is Christine, a breast cancer survivor who walked closely with fear and emerged with a renewed sense of identity and strength. Now using her voice across runways and boardrooms, her story stands as a moving testament to the healing power of vulnerability. “Part of the reason why I love it here is because it’s a community of people that show up for each other, it’s a safe place,” she shares, reflecting the ethos of the Wonder Woman Initiative as a space for courage, grace, and collective support.
Through these narratives, “Designed On Purpose” makes a compelling case: that life is not a sequence of random events, but a carefully woven tapestry where every thread, joy, loss, fear, and triumph, has meaning. “I always knew that I would end up doing something creative. Meeting Ashley in that car ride was like the universe saying, ‘This is what you’re meant to do,’” Alicia Tulsee reflects, underscoring the series’ central message. More than a documentary, it is an invitation to see beyond the surface of struggle and recognise the intentional design behind every journey.
