As part of Chude Jideonwo’s Residency at the London School of Economics (LSE), he’s critically acclaimed docu-series, Is It Your Money? – The Diezani Alison-Madueke Story, was screened at LSE on February 11, 2025. The screening, hosted by distinguished filmmaker and professor Samantha Iwowo, marks a significant moment in the global conversation on power, corruption, and justice in Africa. The film investigates large-scale corruption in Nigeria’s Ministry of Petroleum and revisits the historic Occupy Nigeria protests of 2012—an uprising that altered the country’s trajectory.

Shot across three countries and 15 cities, it unravels the extraordinary rise and fall of Nigeria’s first female Minister of Petroleum and former OPEC President, Diezani Alison-Madueke—now an international fugitive on trial in the UK. With exclusive interviews from the FBI, MET Police, and EFCC investigators, the docu-series pieces together the truth behind one of the biggest corruption scandals in West Africa’s history.

Chude Jideonwo expressed his gratitude to the LSE community and the Firoz Lalji Institute for making this screening possible. “This film asks the crucial questions—about justice, power, and accountability. And I am honored to have the opportunity to bring this conversation to LSE.”

At the LSE screening, Chude engaged with students, professors, and filmmakers in a riveting discussion about the significance of the film and his drive to document Africa’s evolving history. “With every film, I seek to uncover the truth—about history, politics, and culture. And to tell our stories, for Africans, by Africans,” he said.

This screening marks another milestone in Chude’s mission to amplify African narratives on the global stage. As the documentary nears its wider release, he remains committed to bringing critical conversations to audiences across the continent and beyond.
