In this new episode of #WithChude, one of Africa’s most beloved gospel artists, Kambua Manundu, sits with Chude Jideonwo to share her powerful story of faith, waiting, and healing through unimaginable loss. With her full honesty, Kambua recalls the years she prayed and waited to conceive, celebrated others while wrestling silently with God, and endured being called barren by strangers online. “I never thought I would be the woman who walks out of a maternity ward empty-handed,” she says.
She shares how, after five years of trying, she conceived but lost the baby. How in the seventh year she welcomed a son born prematurely, who fought bravely for his life in an incubator. And how she would face heartbreak again, losing another baby just two days after birth. Yet, even through the grief, Kambua found her faith deepened. “I learned that my story is not defined by loss, but by grace,” she reflects. She also recounts a life-changing moment at The Experience, when a word of prophecy from Nathaniel Bassey sparked her miracle, the birth of her son, Nathaniel, now six years old.
In this emotional conversation, Kambua speaks about motherhood, grief, and the freedom that came from surrendering to God’s will before ever becoming a mother.
