Media entrepreneur and host of the viral talk show #WithChude, Chude Jideonwo, sits down with actor, filmmaker and pastor Ifeanyi Kalu in this personal conversation about faith, purpose, obedience and the defining moments that shaped his life and career. Looking back on his journey from learning to sew out of the fear of not having enough to becoming one of Nollywood’s familiar faces, Kalu reveals how what he believes was a clear instruction from God altered the course of his life. “God instructed me to stay off Nollywood… I disobeyed,” he said. “My disobedience to God affected me a whole lot.”
Throughout the conversation, Kalu speaks honestly about balancing success with spiritual conviction, his transition into ministry, and the values that informed his decision to marry. He also reflects on the responsibility that comes with public visibility and the importance of living a life anchored in integrity. “I can’t grasp how someone can be on the news for the wrong reasons and still be okay,” he said, explaining why protecting his character has remained as important to him as pursuing professional success. The actor also opens up about grief and loss, admitting that he is still struggling to process the death of fellow actor Alex Ekubo. “I still don’t believe that Alex Ekubo is gone because he is someone I knew and worked with,” he said.
More than a conversation about acting or ministry, the interview reveals what it means to listen for God’s voice, to wrestle with regret, and to pursue purpose without losing sight of the values that matter most.
