Renowned media personality and social entrepreneur, Chude Jideonwo, celebrates 25 years of impactful work in African media with a special cover feature in Guardian Life. Known for his role in shaping Nigeria’s media landscape and his advocacy for social justice, Jideonwo’s career spans from his early days as a TV presenter to leading key movements like #EndSARS.

As co-founder of RED for Africa, Jideonwo has championed youth empowerment and social change. His work has influenced countless Nigerians and Africans, advocating for young people’s rights and promoting institutional change. Through his leadership with Enough is Enough (EiE), he has helped foster political and social change across Nigeria.

Five years ago, Jideonwo expanded his focus beyond Nigeria to create a network of African storytellers. “We’re taking our show, our content, across Africa,” he says, aiming to amplify African voices and shift the narrative to telling African stories for Africans first. His expansion into countries like Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa is about building a stronger, more connected continent.

Chude’s advice for emerging media professionals is clear: “Find your unique strength, build a structure around it, and ignore the noise.” He encourages young Africans to focus on their strengths and create their own media structures to succeed.

Chude’s legacy continues to inspire, showing that it’s not just about visibility — it’s about using your platform to create lasting change and share authentic African stories with the world.
