Kenya’s creator economy has become a hub for some of the most authentic and impactful creatives on the continent. From Lynn Ngugi’s heartfelt storytelling to Eugene Mbugua’s visionary productions, the country has cultivated a vibrant ecosystem of talent. This week, Chude Jideonwo, the host of the viral show #WithChude and his team has taken steps to nurture the next generation of creators from Kenya and Nigeria, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Africa No Filter and CC Hub’s Creative Economy Practice.
The focus of this initiative is the Creator Economy Incubation Program, which aims to empower storytellers and content creators who integrate values of equity and authenticity into their work. The program provides mentorship, training, and opportunities to elevate creators’ voices, enabling them to reach wider audiences while staying true to their roots.
One of the highlights of the week has been engaging with Njugush, one of the continent’s most influential creators. With over 5 million followers across his platforms, Njugush has become a household name, renowned for his humor and relatability.
“This is such an exciting time to be a creator on the continent,” Chude Jideonwo says. “The energy, innovation, and commitment to storytelling we see in Kenya and Nigeria are truly inspiring. We’re proud to play a role in amplifying these voices.” He affirms.
The journey is far from over, and the excitement continues to build as the program progresses. This is just the beginning of a transformative era for creators across the continent.
