Chude Jideonwo the media guru helped keep the #BringBackOurGirls campaign in the global spotlight, using media to push for action. On June 25, just before Nigerians celebrated a World Cup win, a bomb exploded in an Abuja mall, killing 21 people. The next day, another blast hit Lagos. While officials denied it was a bomb, citizen reporters insisted otherwise. These attacks were part of a growing wave of violence.

States like Kano, Kaduna, and Borno have suffered repeated bombings. Tragedies pile up, news cycles move on, and Nigerians are forced to adjust. The government downplays the crisis, while discussions on security turn into political and religious debates.

The same pattern followed the Chibok schoolgirls’ kidnapping. While the world demands their return, many Nigerians have lost hope. Protesters are silenced, yet kidnappings and attacks continue.

But we cannot just move on. These girls are more than victims. They symbolize Nigeria’s deeper issues—bad leadership, no accountability, and a failing system. #BringBackOurGirls is not just a plea. It is a demand for change.
