Bayanni is one of the most exciting new voices from Mavin Records. His story began with a single Instagram message from Don Jazzy that simply said “Bonjour.” That one word changed everything. Bayanni had seen Don Jazzy in his dreams four times before that moment, and when the message came through, he knew it was the start of something big.
In our conversation, he opened up about the breakout hit “Ta Ta Ta,” the song that introduced him to the world. He shared how tough it is performing at night when you’re claustrophobic and don’t enjoy crowded spaces. He spoke with so much love for his family, especially his dad who never stopped him from chasing music. When I asked if he was in a relationship, his answer wasn’t exactly clear. He laughed as he told me how he’d handle it if both Wizkid and Davido called him to collaborate on the same day. At the end, he said, “This is the best interview I’ve ever done.” I believe him. It’s one of my favorites too.
